Open to everyone
Claire TRENBERTH is our private practice secretary. Claire has a comprehensive knowledge of private medical care and health insurance. She offers a prompt and responsive service for our patients with whom she builds strong relationships. She is happy to answer questions about insurance policy cover and alternatives such as fixed price packages for patients without private medical insurance. She also had a good insight into laparoscopic colorectal and pelvic floor surgery
Mr Tony Dixon's clinics at SPIRE Hospital Bristol are open to everyone, whether or not you are covered by BUPA or another private insurer. If you do not have private medical insurance, you may be asked to pay for your treatment on the day of your appointment. Accepted methods of payment are debit or credit card, cheque or cash
If you are covered by private medical insurance, please contact your insurer in advance to ensure that your treatment has been authorised and to find out whether you will require a referral letter from your GP. You will need to bring your insurance details with you and a claim form. Once signed by the Consultant, the form and invoices will be sent direct to your medical insurance company.
Some insurers provide Pre-Authorisation numbers. If this applies, please give us the details. The account will still be sent to the patient for forwarding. Reminders are sent monthly.
The patient is responsible for any shortfalls arising from exceeding their outpatient benefit
limit and excesses or exclusions on their policy.
A written estimate of the surgeon’s fees is provided before the operation. Patients are advised to contact their insurers prior to admission to check their cover for the hospital and medical fees.
If you do not have private medical insurance or you have exclusions on your policy, our Inclusive Care* scheme means you can pay for treatment yourself. Once your consultant has confirmed that you are suitable for Inclusive Care treatment, you'll receive a guaranteed fixed price, confirmed in advance, so you have the reassurance of knowing that there will be no hidden extras. There is 30 day readmission policy for possible complications.
If your consultant advises that Inclusive Care is not an appropriate option for you, a self-funding alternative is available.
*Terms and conditions apply. Details available on request.
Sponsored patients should bring a letter of guarantee signed by their sponsor to their first appointment and for their operation.
